- The PowerConnect 6024 has 24 copper Gigabit Ethernet ports and 8 combo fiber SFP slots.
- The SFP transceiver slots can be used interchangeably with the copper ports to yield exactly 24 usable ports of Gigabit Ethernet.
- Optional 1000 Base-SX transceiver modules support transmission distances up to 550m, while optional 1000 Base-LX transceiver modules support transmission distances up to 10km.

- The PowerConnect 6000 Series switches support a variety of advanced industry standards-based routing and switching features, allowing an administrator to optimize traffic flow in the network:
